The Fourpak Radio Club held an EGM on Thursday June 25th 2009, at which it was decided by those members present that all financial matters of the group would be wound up and the groups remaining funds (around ?500) would be donated equally to the other two local Repeater Groups with which Fourpak had close collaboration and contact over the years: Gloucestershire Repeater Group (GRG) and Kidderminster Repeater Group (KRG).
The Fourpak EGM was immediately followed by an abridged and final AGM to present various reports from the preceding year. Since the EGM/AGM the Fourpak Committee have been working to pay all remaining bills and make other necessary arrangements before transferring the remaining funds to the other two groups.
Equipment operated by the group at some of the sites will remain active for a while yet (with appropriate 3rd party liability insurance still being in place until the middle of 2010). Whilst the FourPak group will no longer collect membership fees or have any funds it is expected that former members of the group will still meet up from time to time to discuss matters of mutual interest.
It is expected that GRG and KRG will use the money from Fourpak to continue to fund other repeater projects (both analogue and digital) for all users in the area and that GRG and KRG will over the coming months make their own decisions regarding what use will be made of the various hill-top sites that Fourpak used for the packet radio systems and in conjunction with the remaining Fourpak Committee arrange to remove, re-use or dispose of the remaining equipment as they see fit.
As result of the decision taken at the Fourpak EGM Gloucestershire Repeater Group have Today (21st August) received a donation of just over ?250 for which we are very grateful to the former members and Committee of the Fourpak Radio Club.
