History of Gloucestershire Repeater Group
The group was started in 1984 (as 'Gloucester Repeater Group') with the initial aim of providing a 70cm voice repeater in the Gloucester area.
The group grew significantly during the 1990's with the advent of Packet Radio, but membership and support has sadly declined over the last few years.
The group changed its name to 'Gloucestershire Repeater Group' at the EGM held in April 1997 to reflect that its repeater systems provided coverage across much of the county, not just the city of Gloucester.
Whilst the group no longer maintains traditional Packet Radio sytems it does operate two APRS systems (MB7UC & MB7US) and two 70cm Voice Repeaters (GB3GH & GB3UK) as well as a 2m Voice repeater (GB3CG) and a 10GHz Beacon (GB3CCX).
